The Council on LGBTQIA2S+ Minnesotans continues to mourn the loss of Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark. Our concern and support remain with Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, as they continue recovery from the horrifying political attack that took place on June 14th. We also extend deep sympathy to the families, communities, and colleagues of all those impacted by this devasting event.
We recognize the risks undertaken by those who dedicate their lives to public service and extend our heartfelt appreciation to all those working to build a Minnesota where everyone is able to live, thrive, and lead without fear.

What We've Been Up To:
In the News:
-
From KTTC: “The Council on LGBTQIA2S+ Minnesotans (MNQT) strongly opposes the decision to eliminate the Press 3 option from the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. This is a callous and shortsighted decision that removes evidence-based, life-saving care for a high-risk population of children and young adults - many of whom press 3 because they have nowhere else to turn. "DIGGING DEEPER: Elimination of LGBTQ+ youth suicide lifeline will 'put more lives at risk''
-
Statement from the Council on LGBTQIA2s+ Minnesotans on the Supreme Court's Skrmetti Decision via MNQT's Instagram: "This ruling weakens the protections afforded by the Equal Protection Clause of the U.S. Constitution - protections that are meant to ensure all people, including transgender youth, are treated with fairness and dignity under the law. We want to be clear: gender-affirming care remains legal in Minnesota. Our state has taken steps to protect access to care, and those protections continue to stand. But today's decision underscores how critical it is to have strong, permanent protections in place and how vulnerable those protections can be across the country."
