Senate Status: 3/16/22 Introduction and first reading, referred to Environment and Natural Resources Finance
In order for bills to become law, they generally need to be introduced, heard in a series of committees, and passed by the full body in both the House and the Senate. If there are any differences between the version of the bill passed by the House and the Senate, a conference committee is typically called to resolve the differences. The conferenced version of the bill then needs to be passed by both the House and the Senate and then must be signed into law by the governor. You can contact your state legislators with any questions or concerns about the legislative process.
