Join us for the next MICH webinar on Wednesday, November 5 from 1 - 2 p.m. If you have any questions about your webinar registration, please email dan.gregory@state.mn.us
On the November 5 webinar, go deeper on briefs about homelessness among Native Americans from Wilder Research’s Minnesota Homeless Study and Reservation Homeless Study.
Though MICH webinars are not the ideal place to address individual circumstances, MICH is committed to following up if people do raise specific questions or concerns.
The beginning 10 minutes of each monthly webinar will be held to hear from the Speakers Bureau. Anyone who has lived experience of homelessness is welcome to sign-up to share through the Speakers Bureau. This is open time each month for lived experience experts to share ideas and feedback with the webinar audience.
The next webinar Speakers Bureau will be on Wednesday, November 5 at 1 p.m. There is a monthly prep session held the Tuesday before the webinar. The prep session will be Tuesday, November 4 from 11-11:30 a.m. Follow this link to join the prep session. This is an ongoing opportunity that happens each month. Sign up is required. Please email dan.gregory@state.mn.us or call/text Dan at 651-983-9985 to sign up to speak or with any questions.
Our next MICH Council Meeting is just around the corner! Tune in on Tuesday, November 4 from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. to hear updates on the Crossroads to Justice strategic plan and the impact of federal actions on our efforts to provide pathways to housing, racial and health justice for people facing homelessness in Minnesota.
Register for the live-streamed event at https://tinyurl.com/MICHCouncilNov2025
While this meeting is open to the public and we hope you join and listen in to the Council’s discussion, there is no public testimony during the meeting.
The working group will consider all feedback as it finalizes its initial recommendations in November.
The next Office of Addiction and Recovery (OAR) monthly webinar will be held on Wednesday, October 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon.
The October session will include the following topics:
-
Office of Addiction and Recovery Update
-
Principles of Recovery in the African American Community with Jonathan Lofgren, Ph.D., LADC - Faculty, Addiction Counseling Program, CRP Founder, Minneapolis College
-
“Getting to know state leaders," a Q&A with Bob Jacobson – Commissioner of Public Safety
These monthly updates share addiction and recovery initiatives with partners, highlighting important work happening inside and outside state government.
Do you have a hard time explaining what a Continuum of Care is and why they’re important for helping prevent and end homelessness? You’re not alone!
Many of us struggle to define what is essentially the backbone of our homeless response system. In a time when Continuums of Care are facing heightened risks, our communities need to understand why these local partners exist, what they do to support our neighbors, and why we need the federal government as a strong, reliable partner committed to their success.
MICH is here to help make your conversations easier!
We’re rolling out a series of posts on social media that speak to the vital nature of Minnesota’s 10 Continuum of Care regions. Two are up so far:
We hope you’ll like and share these posts so others can be better informed – and be sure to follow our social accounts to see the next posts in the series!
