Register for Notice When Unsolicited Offers of Sale are Made to Manufactured Home Communities
A new law requires owners of manufactured home communities to notify Minnesota Housing when they receive an unsolicited offer to purchase their business. If the owner intends to consider the offer, they must notify Minnesota Housing in writing and provide the offer details. Minnesota Housing will then provide notice of the offer to all registered representatives acting on behalf of manufactured home community residents or interested non-profit organizations. The owner must also mail the notice to each manufactured home community resident in the affected park.
Representatives acting on behalf of manufactured home community residents or other interested non-profit organizations must register with Minnesota Housing to receive notice of unsolicited offers.
To register, send the contact name, the organization’s name (if applicable) and the email address where Minnesota Housing should send the notices to: MNHousing.Manufacturedhomes@state.mn.us.
As required by the new law, any person or organization who registers will be listed publicly on the Minnesota Housing website.
Questions? Contact MNHousing.Manufacturedhomes@state.mn.us.
