Heading Home Corps is currently accepting site applications for the 2022-23 program year, which starts in August 2022. Heading Home Corps places AmeriCorps members, called Housing Resource Navigators, at organizations that are dedicated to improving the well-being of people experiencing homelessness. Housing Resource Navigators provide program participants with resource navigation for direct housing support or housing-adjacent support. Example activities include: obtaining subsidies for housing, acquiring necessary documentation for housing, facilitating access to healthcare, mental health, employment, and/or substance-use resources. If your setting is interested, you can apply now by completing the site application. Sites are encouraged to apply as soon as possible and will be awarded on a rolling basis depending on the number of requests received.
All members receive robust training and professional development throughout the year, along with a living stipend every two weeks, an education award of up to $6,495 to pay for school or pay back student loans, and free health insurance and childcare assistance (for those who qualify).
Heading Home Corps program staff are currently working to partner with nonprofits, public entities, and shelters in a variety of locations in the Twin Cities and Statewide. Learn more about the site partnership in the Guide to Partnering. If you'd like to set up a call or informational meeting to learn more about the program, please contact Lizzie Morris Vogt, Director of Partnerships, at lizzie.morrisvogt@ampact.us.
Join the weekly provider webinar tomorrow from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. to hear from Heading Home Staff about the first year of the program and the site application process, hear from the Speakers Bureau, and ask any questions you have.
If you have any questions about your registration, please email Elizabeth Dressel.
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has a supply of iHealth over-the-counter rapid antigen tests available immediately to congregate living facilities. Each box contains 90 test kits, and each test kit includes two tests, so ordering one box would yield 180 tests. Facilities can order tests by completing the order form below. We are asking facilities to use an estimate of approximately three test kits per person (including staff and residents) or fewer as a guideline to stretch our limited supply of test kits to as many facilities as possible. If you run out of tests and we still have supplies available, you can always order more boxes as needed. Test kits expire in July 2022
Note: If your facility plans to distribute the tests to residents or staff for personal use (i.e., residents/staff will administer the test on self and read their own test results), a CLIA waiver is not required. However, if your facility plans to administer the tests to residents or staff, the facility will be required to provide their CLIA number and agree to report results. If you have any questions about testing guidance, please contact the MDH Congregate Settings Response Team at Health.R-Congregate@state.mn.us.
The next conversation is scheduled for Tuesday, March 15 from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. The peer-to-peer conversations are an opportunity for providers to ask questions to peers, hear what their peers are doing, and support one another. The conversation topics are open and guided by those who join. Monthly peer-to-peer conversations will continue to be held on the third Tuesday of each month from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in 2022 and the group will determine a discussion topic each month.
You can join the Microsoft Teams meeting on your computer or mobile device, or for audio only call, 651-395-7448 and enter conference ID 979281139. You do not need to register. If you have any technical questions or trouble joining the meeting, please email Elizabeth Dressel.

Eligible workers would receive payments of up to $1,500. Section 2, Subdivision 2 in House File 2900 defines the frontline sector and includes temporary shelters and hotels as well as public health and social service sectors more generally. The companion bill, SF2650, awaits action by the Senate Jobs and Economic Growth Finance and Policy Committee.
