Legislative Update
As we observe Holy Week and celebrate Easter, I want to wish you and your family a blessed and meaningful holiday. Easter is a time to reflect on faith, renewal, and the many blessings in our lives. I hope you are able to spend extra time this weekend with family, friends, and loved ones, and enjoy a well-deserved pause from the busy pace of everyday life.
When the Legislature returns to St. Paul next week, we will be entering the final stretch of the 2026 session. With just six weeks remaining before our May 17th constitutional deadline to adjourn, there is still a significant amount of work to be done. Many key policy proposals are still under discussion and negotiations will continue to intensify in the weeks ahead.
This year presents an added challenge, as the House remains tied 67-67. As you know, that means bipartisan cooperation is essential to move legislation forward and complete our work on time. While this dynamic can create uncertainty, it also requires thoughtful conversations and collaboration to find practical solutions that serve Minnesotans well.
In the coming weeks, I will continue working to advance responsible budgeting, support our local communities, and address the priorities that matter most to families across our district. I will also keep you updated as negotiations move forward and major decisions take shape.
For now, I hope you can enjoy this Easter weekend, spend time with loved ones, and reflect on the blessings we share. As always, please feel free to reach out with your thoughts, questions, or concerns. Your input is important, and I appreciate hearing from you.
Wishing you and your family a blessed Easter.
