Legislative Update
Hello friends,
This session, our primary focus is addressing the rampant fraud here in our state. We have already tried several times to advance our Independent Office of the Inspector General (OIG) bill. Even though this legislation, SF856, passed the Senate last session with an overwhelming majority vote, 60-7, House Democrats have been adamant about blocking the bill in our chamber. Currently, the bill is held up in the State Government Committee, as DFL members are not willing to vote in support and pass it to the next stop. We will continue to fight for this bill and meaningful measures to address the fraud and I am hopeful that we will make significant, bipartisan progress on it this session.
