Hello Neighbors,
The 2026 Legislative Session officially started this week, and so did Lent. The Lenten season is always a great reminder to slow down, reflect, and refocus on what matters most. In the middle of a busy start to session, it offers a natural pause point to take stock, practice discipline, and approach the work ahead with clarity and purpose. For many, this season is centered on faith, service, and sacrifice. Those principles translate well into public service, where the focus should remain on serving others, listening closely, and making thoughtful decisions. As session ramps up with hearings, meetings, and long days at the Capitol, Lent serves as a steady reminder to stay grounded and keep the bigger picture in mind. I hope this season brings you time for reflection and renewal as well.
At the Capitol, we jumped right into committee hearings and floor sessions. Same with last session, the House remains tied 67-67, meaning that any legislation passing through a committee or off of the House floor must have bipartisan support. I am hopeful for the work that we will be able to get done this session and look forward to collaborating in a bipartisan manner.
I want to give a huge congratulations to the Little Falls boys hockey team on their 5-2 win over Prairie Center in the playoffs. The Flyers have played an impressive season so far. Their next game is on Saturday, February 21st at 4:00pm at the St. Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex. They will face off again #1 seed Sartell for what should be an exciting game! Best of luck to the team.
BTW: Fish Frys start today, since it's the first Friday of Lent!
Join the Little Falls Lindbergh Lions for their 38th Annual Fish Fry at the Little Falls VFW from 4:00pm - 7:30pm.
Another option is at The Canteen. Their "All You Can Eat" Fish Fry beginning at 5:30, every Friday!
