Non-Public Pupil Aid Rally
I joined a rally this week in support of non-public pupil aid. There’s been an overwhelming response to the Governor’s plan to eliminate non-public pupil aid in Minnesota—and rightfully so. This program represents only a small portion of the state’s overall education budget, yet it plays a critical role for thousands of families. All taxpayers deserve a voice, and I was proud to stand with them today at a rally in the Capitol rotunda.

Director General Dennis Yen-Feng Lei
Director General Dennis Yen-Feng Lei of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago visited the Minnesota House this week. Minnesota and Taiwan have shared a strong trade relationship for years, and it was a pleasure to meet him in person. His visit highlights the importance of continuing to strengthen our economic and cultural ties.
Iron Range Tourism Bureau
I had a great conversation with Beth Pierce, Executive Director of the Iron Range Tourism Bureau. Tourism and hospitality drive billions in private investment into our rural economies and provide vital support to small businesses across the region. Grateful for the work you do and for taking the time to connect this week, Beth!
Reconnecting with a childhood neighbor
It was a great surprise to see Liz Kuoppala outside the House chambers earlier this week. We grew up on the same road, just across the river from each other, and I have many fond memories of summer nights spent with the Kuoppala family. I will always remember the warm hospitality of her parents, Reino and Diane. It was great to reconnect. Thanks for stopping by, Liz!
More Rangers in the House
It was a pleasure to see members of the Flom family at the Capitol on Thursday with the Ely school group. Jeromy, who I work with in mining, and his wife Kim were chaperoning their daughter Lena’s school trip. Always great to welcome constituents to St. Paul!
Minnesota Milk and Ice Cream Day
Minnesota Milk sponsored Ice Cream Day this week, and they came with lots of hand made Jupiter Moon ice cream from St. Joseph, MN. It was a great chance to enjoy a cold treat, meet a few Minnesota dairy farmers, and connect with colleagues from both parties.
 Meeting Margaret Roy
I had the great pleasure of meeting the grandmother of my legislative assistant, Morgan, this week. We took her for a tour of the Capitol grounds and got a few photos in the House chamber. She is a lovely lady and it was great to meet her!
