Legislative Update
Friends and Neighbors,
The House is now back to a 67-67 tie, but my work for our community remains the same—finding solutions to the issues that matter most to you. That means focusing on education, affordability, housing, the environment, food insecurity, and supporting families.
Thank you to everyone who attended my in-district office hours! Your input and engagement are invaluable, and I appreciate the opportunity to listen and learn from you. Your voices help shape my work at the Capitol and ensure that I am representing our community’s needs effectively

Legislative Hearings: Working Together for Real Solutions
This past week, I had the opportunity to present several of my bipartisan bills aimed at addressing key issues in our state:
HF 412 – Education Policy Committee: This bill is a bipartisan effort requiring legislators to spend 12 hours shadowing educators and administrators over a two-year period. This hands-on experience will allow us to listen and learn from those “Boots on the Ground” educators so we can craft policies that truly support our students, schools, and teachers.
HF 1120 – Environment Committee: Clean water, thriving fisheries, and tourism are essential to Minnesota’s way of life. This bipartisan bill (Keep It Clean) supports statewide water protection efforts and promotes responsible environmental stewardship to preserve our natural resources while boosting our local economies.

HF 841 – Children and Families Committee: Emergency food shelf funding is critical, and as a board member and 10-year volunteer at a food shelf, I’ve seen firsthand the need to support both the volunteers and the families who rely on these services. This bipartisan effort will ensure that our food shelves have the resources they need to continue supporting our neighbors |
Local Efforts: Strengthening Our Communities
Beyond the Capitol, I continue working to support our district’s priorities:
Supporting Local Law Enforcement: Building relationships with those who protect and serve our communities is key to fostering trust and understanding. I’ve been meeting with local law enforcement to listen and learn more about the challenges they face. Too many people don’t realize the sacrifices our officers make every day, and it’s important that we bring them to the table to find common-sense solutions.

|
Investing in Infrastructure: I’m focused on securing funding for infrastructure projects that keep our communities strong and connected. Roads, bridges, clean water, and essential services are vital to our quality of life, and I’ll continue to push for smart investments that benefit our district. |

As we head into the weekend, I hope you take some time to enjoy the beautiful weather we’re having. It’s a great time to get outside, connect with your community, and appreciate all that Minnesota has to offer. Thank you for staying engaged and being part of the conversation—your voice matters!
