Legislative Update
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
This past week, I’ve been hard at work listening to you and collaborating with local leaders, businesses, and schools, as well as my colleagues at the Capitol. Together, we’re focused on tackling our shared priorities and finding solutions that will benefit everyone in our community. Here are some highlights of what we’ve been working on:
Tackling Government Waste and Fraud
Eliminating waste and fraud is a top priority this legislative session, and the newly-formed Fraud Prevention and State Agency Oversight Committee is leading the charge to ensure taxpayer dollars are protected and used responsibly. By addressing inefficiencies and holding state agencies accountable, this committee is taking meaningful steps to restore trust in government. With help from experts, the committee is focused on identifying systemic issues and implementing reforms that prioritize transparency, fiscal responsibility, and the best interests of Minnesotans.
Advancing Critical Investments for Excelsior
One of the most pressing issues in our district is the need to maintain and improve our aging infrastructure. This week, I introduced House File 225 (HF225), a bill that looks to support the funding of infrastructure needs in Excelsior. This bill would improve roads and water infrastructure that support not just Excelsior, but neighboring communities like Tonka Bay, Shorewood, Greenwood, Deephaven and more.
I’m proud to share that this effort is a bipartisan collaboration, with strong support from our local DFL Senator. It’s a clear example of how we can work together to address real problems and deliver results for your backyard and all of Minnesota.

Combating Food Insecurity
Food insecurity is an issue that hits close to home for many in our district, and it’s an issue that deeply resonates with me. This week, I had the privilege of visiting Second Harvest Heartland, where I witnessed the incredible work being done to provide meals to families in need and to empower young people to lead hunger-relief efforts.
As someone who serves on the board of the Westonka Food Shelf, I’ve seen firsthand how hunger impacts families right here in our community. Both Second Harvest Heartland and the Westonka Food Shelf have been pillars of support for our neighbors, offering vital resources to those who may be struggling. But more than that, it’s a reminder that food insecurity isn’t just about statistics—it’s about the families behind those numbers, the children who deserve a nutritious meal, and the seniors who shouldn’t have to choose between groceries and medication.
It’s why I’m committed to creating bipartisan efforts that tackle this issue head-on, whether through expanding resources for food banks or partnering with community organizations to reach more people. No one in Minnesota should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from, and together, we can make sure that’s the case.
Stay Connected
As your representative, I want to hear from you. Whether it’s about infrastructure, hunger relief, affordability, or another issue that matters to you, your insights and ideas are essential to my work. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me—your voice helps guide the decisions I make at the Capitol.
The progress we’ve made so far reflects the power of collaboration, both within our district and across party lines. From improving infrastructure to addressing food insecurity, these efforts are driven by our shared goal of building a stronger, more connected community.
Thank you for trusting me to represent you. I look forward to continuing this work in the weeks and months ahead. Please reach out any time.
Sincerely,
