Legislative Update
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
The 2025 legislative session is officially underway, and it’s an honor to return to the Capitol to serve as your representative for District 11A. It’s been an eventful and exciting first week, and I want to take this opportunity to update you on what’s been happening and share some of the work ahead.
Swearing In and Committee Assignments
On Tuesday, I was proud to take the oath of office alongside my colleagues as we began this year’s legislative session. It was an honor to have friends, neighbors, and family from our district join me for the ceremony. Your presence made the day even more meaningful, and I’m grateful for your support.
I’m excited to share that I’ve been appointed to serve on the Commerce Finance and Policy Committee and named vice chair of the Housing Finance and Policy Committee. These committees will allow me to focus on issues that are critical to our district and state, from strengthening our local economies to addressing housing affordability. I look forward to working collaboratively with my colleagues to deliver meaningful results.

Policy Priorities for 2025
As the session begins, we are focused on addressing the key issues that matter most to Minnesotans. These priorities are reflected in the following six policy pillars that will guide much of our work:
-
Stop the Fraud: Implementing measures to prevent waste, fraud, and abuse in government programs.
-
Make Minnesota Affordable: Reducing the cost of living for families and businesses.
-
Make Minnesota Safe: Supporting law enforcement and policies that enhance public safety.
-
Raise Standards, Reduce Mandates: Improving educational outcomes while reducing unnecessary regulations on schools.
-
Minnesota Tax Dollars for Minnesotans: Ensuring taxpayer funds are utilized effectively for the benefit of residents.
-
Build for the Future: Investing in infrastructure and sustainable development to strengthen our communities.
These pillars serve as a foundation for bipartisan collaboration, and I am optimistic that we can work together to make real progress for the people of Minnesota.
Meetings and Events
This week has been busy with meetings and events that highlight the importance of building relationships and hearing directly from community leaders and residents. This week I had the pleasure to attend events for both the Moose Lake Chamber and Minnesota Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber has always been a solid partner in shaping policy that benefits workers and job creators, allowing businesses to thrive in our state.

|
Moose Lake Chamber Dinner: I had the pleasure of attending this event, where I heard about the priorities and concerns of local business leaders and community members. It was a great opportunity to connect and discuss ways to support our district’s economic growth.
|
Minnesota Chamber Session Priorities Meeting: This annual event brought together legislators and business leaders to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Minnesota. I appreciated the thoughtful conversations about fostering innovation and making Minnesota a great place to live and work.

As we settle into the session, I am eager to roll up my sleeves and get to work on the issues that matter most to our community. I’ll continue to focus on practical, common-sense solutions that address housing, public safety, education, and more.
