Representative Aaron Repinski Sworn into Office, Begins First Term Representing District 26A
St. Paul, MN – Representative Aaron Repinski (R-Winona) took the oath of office on Tuesday, officially beginning his first term in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Repinski represents District 26A, which includes Winona and the surrounding communities in southeastern Minnesota.
“It is an incredible honor to represent our community in the Minnesota House,” said Repinski. “I am ready to work hard to advance the values and priorities of our community and deliver meaningful solutions that will improve the lives of Minnesotans. The people of District 26A deserve strong leadership that listens, acts, and delivers results.”
The 2025 legislative session began with a historic moment as Republicans elected Rep. Lisa Demuth as Speaker of the House. Despite efforts by Democrats to delay the session by refusing to attend, House Republicans pressed forward to ensure the people's work could begin without delay.
House Republicans have outlined six key policy pillars that will guide their work over the next two years:
-
Stop the Fraud: Tackling waste, fraud, and abuse in government programs to restore trust and accountability.
-
Make Minnesota Affordable: Enacting policies to reduce costs for families and businesses.
-
Make Minnesota Safe: Supporting law enforcement and enhancing public safety initiatives.
-
Raise Standards, Reduce Mandates: Improving educational outcomes while minimizing unnecessary regulations.
-
Minnesota Tax Dollars for Minnesotans: Ensuring state funds directly benefit Minnesota residents.
-
Build for the Future: Investing in sustainable infrastructure to strengthen the state’s economy and communities.
Repinski will be serving on the Health Finance and Policy and Public Safety Finance and Policy Committees, as well as on the Veterans and Military Affairs Division.
“House Republicans are focused on addressing the challenges that matter most to Minnesotans—restoring accountability, reducing costs, and creating safer communities,” Repinski said. “I am especially eager to work on solutions that enhance opportunities for our local businesses, schools, and families. Our community is vibrant with so much to offer, and I’m committed to ensuring our voices are heard at the Capitol.”
