Representative Kristin Robbins Takes Oath of Office, Ready to Serve District 37A
ST. PAUL, MN – Representative Kristin Robbins (R-Maple Grove) took the oath of office on Tuesday, officially beginning her fourth term as the representative for District 37A, which includes Corcoran, Greenfield, Independence, Loretto, Maple Grove, Maple Plain, and Medina.
Prior to the start of the session, Robbins was appointed to the Higher Education Finance and Policy, Taxes, and Ways and Means Committees. Robbins will serve as vice chair of Ways and Means as well as chair a newly created committee on Fraud and Oversight.
“I am deeply honored to represent the residents of District 37A in the Minnesota House,” said Robbins. “This session, I am dedicated to advancing policies that make life more affordable for Minnesota families and seniors, stop fraud in state government, and prioritize student achievement and public safety. I am honored to serve as the first chair of a legislative committee dedicated to stopping fraud and providing oversight of Executive agencies. Fraud is not a partisan issue, and I look forward to working with my Democrat colleagues to ensure taxpayers’ money is spent wisely and effectively. Minnesotans deserve leaders who fulfill their constitutional duty to come to the Capitol every day and work in good faith for all Minnesotans.”
The opening of the 2025 legislative session marked a historic moment as Republicans elected Representative Lisa Demuth as Speaker of the Minnesota House. Despite efforts by Democrats to block the session by not attending the opening day, House Republicans forged ahead, ensuring the work of the people would not be delayed.
House Republicans are focused on six key policy pillars for the session:
-
Stop the Fraud: Tackling waste, fraud, and abuse in government programs to restore trust and accountability.
-
Make Minnesota Affordable: Implementing policies to reduce costs for families and businesses.
-
Make Minnesota Safe: Supporting law enforcement and enhancing public safety initiatives.
-
Raise Standards, Reduce Mandates: Improving educational outcomes while reducing burdensome regulations.
-
Minnesota Tax Dollars for Minnesotans: Ensuring taxpayer funds directly benefit Minnesota residents.
-
Build for the Future: Investing in sustainable infrastructure to strengthen the state’s economy and communities.
House Republicans are committed to working across the aisle to deliver meaningful results for Minnesotans while remaining steadfast in their priorities to create a safer, more affordable, and prosperous state.
