Wayne Johnson Sworn-In to First Term as State Representative for District 41A
SAINT PAUL, MN – Representative Wayne Johnson (R-Cottage Grove) took the oath of office to begin his first term Tuesday at the beginning of the 2025 legislative session. Johnson will represent District 41A which includes Afton, Baytown Township, Denmark Township, Grant, Lake Elmo, Lake St. Croix Beach, Lakeland, Lakeland Shores, St. Mary’s Point, West Lakeland Township, and northern Cottage Grove.
Prior to the start of session, Johnson was appointed to serve on the Housing Finance and Policy, Labor and Workforce Development Finance and Policy, and Taxes Committees.
"I am honored to represent the residents of District 41A and eager to get to work on the challenges and opportunities facing our communities," Johnson said. "My focus will be on delivering meaningful solutions in housing, workforce development, and tax reform that reflect the values and priorities of our district. I look forward to serving with integrity, listening to constituents, and being a strong advocate for our region at the Capitol."
After members were sworn in, House Republicans rolled up their sleeves and got to work for the people of Minnesota. They elected Rep. Lisa Demuth (R-Cold Spring) as Speaker of the House and laid out six key policy focuses for the next two years. Those are:
