As the legislative session draws closer, I am pleased to share updates on committee assignments, local projects, and Christmas wishes. Your engagement and support inspire me as I prepare to advocate for the issues that matter most to our community. As we break for Christmas and New Year's, I will be pausing my newsletters until we come back in January. However, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or priorities you’d like to share.
Committee Assignments
With the unique dynamic of a tied legislature, bipartisanship will be crucial for the success of this upcoming session. I am honored to have been assigned to three key committees:
-
Agriculture Finance and Policy (Vice Chair): Agriculture is the backbone of our economy, and I am eager to work as Vice Chair to support Minnesota’s farmers. From securing resources for local farm operations to expanding markets and encouraging sustainable practices, I will ensure our agricultural community has a strong voice in St. Paul.
-
Public Safety Finance and Policy: Public safety remains a top priority for our district. On this committee, I will work to ensure law enforcement has the tools and resources needed to keep our communities safe while advocating for policies that address crime and support victims.
-
Taxes: With Minnesota’s budget challenges, I am committed to finding solutions that provide tax relief to hardworking families and small businesses. As a member of the Taxes Committee, I will prioritize responsible fiscal policies to curb wasteful spending and ensure your tax dollars are used efficiently.
District Visit: Highway 93 Update
Last week, I toured Highway 93, where important improvements are underway to enhance safety and accessibility for residents and travelers. This vital project addresses long-standing concerns about flooding and road conditions, which have posed challenges for our community.
During the visit, I learned about the progress and timeline for completion. I will continue to advocate for resources to ensure timely updates and maintenance for our infrastructure needs.
