A New Chapter After Election Season
Dear Neighbors,
After a busy election season, I’m happy to resume our regular updates. I hope you’ve had a chance to enjoy the unseasonably warm November weather while it lasted and reflect on a meaningful summer.
Election Results and What’s Next
The election brought a wave of activity, from mailers to door knocks, with some key races seeing over $1 million in combined spending. During this time, state law required a pause in legislative communications, but now that the election has passed, I’m excited to reconnect with you.
I’m honored to have earned your trust once again, winning reelection with 70.03% of the vote. Thank you for your support. I will continue to represent our district’s values in St. Paul with determination and focus.
House Republicans performed well, maintaining all competitive seats and flipping three from the Democrats. However, we narrowly missed gaining a majority, leaving the Minnesota House evenly divided at 67-67—a situation not seen since 1978. Leadership from both parties has agreed to split committee membership evenly, and discussions are ongoing about other important roles and rules in the House. This division will require bipartisan cooperation, which presents both challenges and opportunities for meaningful work ahead.
Moving Forward
With the election behind us, our focus must shift to ensuring responsible governance. Taxpayers deserve accountability, especially as concerns over fraud and government inefficiencies continue to grow. I remain committed to policies that protect your hard-earned dollars and strengthen trust in our institutions.
District Visits
The City of Watertown is growing! The construction of a new water tower is necessary to enhance its storage capacity to address the city’s growing water needs. The additional capacity will also support the Fire Department during firefighting incidents. The groundbreaking ceremony was recently held and I’m happy to support the City of Watertown in this endeavor. It’s exciting to see Watertown thrive with new home development and new businesses.
Thanksgiving Reflections
As Thanksgiving approaches, it’s a perfect time to reflect on the blessings we share: God, family, freedom, and the strength of our community.
Whether you’re gathering for a traditional meal, lending a hand to those in need, or simply enjoying time with loved ones, I hope this Thanksgiving brings peace and gratitude to your home. For those traveling, I wish you safe journeys and restful celebrations.
From my family to yours, have a happy Thanksgiving! I look forward to hearing your thoughts and working together for commonsense policies.
