Dear Neighbors,
Like so many of you, I was shocked and saddened by the attempted assassination of President Trump last Saturday at a rally in Pennsylvania. It is but by the grace of God that President Trump is still alive today.
My heart breaks for the family of Corey Comperatore who was tragically killed during this act of unspeakable political violence.
No one should fear for their life for expressing their political views, or listening to someone who is sharing them. Saturday’s events were truly an American Tragedy, and it could have been so much worse.
It is my hope that this tragic event will serve as a reminder that the words we use matter and how important it is to disagree respectfully with those who may not share our political views. Remember, at the end of the day, we are all Americans, and it is on us to preserve our union for the next generation.
Staying in Touch
Because of campaign finance rules that limit unsolicited communications from my “official” office during election years, today’s newsletter will be my final one until November. Despite this, my work serving as your legislator does not end. So please continue to reach out to me with any questions, comments, or concerns you may have. You can reach me at rep.josh.heintzeman@house.mn.gov or 651-296-4333.
Have a great summer and I’ll see you around town!
Josh
