Legislative Update
I’d like to invite you all to join me this coming Tuesday, April 23, to share with you what I have been working on down at the Capitol this session, what the end of this session looks like, and to hear your thoughts and concerns about everything that has been going on this year.

Democrats have created a new government program to the tune of $7 million, which will help illegals gain access to resources and legal services that others, who come to our country legally, don't have. The State of Minnesota is on the horizon of a budget deficit, yet no one from the DFL could answer one simple question: What amount of money is it alright for Minnesotans to pay $10 billion worth in new taxes to benefit people who are here illegally? Minnesotans have expressed they do not want our state to become a sanctuary state, however, the Democrats push to make it easier for illegals to come use our tax dollars to gain legal access to our state and take jobs of Minnesotans. After a persistent level of questioning around the program's eligibility, the only thing that became clear was that members in the majority party in Minnesota are placing the needs of illegal immigrants ahead of the needs of legal Minnesota citizens who are suffering from the damage of $10 billion of tax increases. Representative Ron Kresha and I were two key voices in calling out this outrageous spending and every Republican voted against it during the debate on Monday night.

Second Amendment Alert
Democrats this week passed the “Safe Storage” Mandate through the Senate Finance Committee and now the bill will be headed to the floor of the Senate for a vote. Meaning now is our time to act to protect the 2nd Amendment and ensure that Minnesotans keep and maintain the right to protect their family in their own home! This bill limits the self defense options you have in your own home. As I have said many times, in our rural communities this is the key way we keep our families safe. In response to the action of the Senate, DFL Speaker of the House Melissa Hortman stated they plan to pass this bill this year – so now we know. We must take action to reach out to Democrats in the House and Senate and tell them to STOP this bill from moving forward.
Thank you to each of you who continue to reach out to me expressing your concerns with what is happening in St. Paul.
God Bless You,
