Legislative Update

Childcare access continues to be a growing crisis for Minnesotans across the state. Numerous childcare providers are closing under the increased regulatory weight. This problem is worsened in greater Minnesota where there are fewer options and often greater transportation requirements. Demand for childcare services are also increasing as having both parents working becomes increasingly necessary under the Biden-Walz economy. We need to bring forward creative solutions that fit the needs of every Minnesotan, not just those in the Metro and Suburbs where large childcare centers are more prominent.

Last week was Township Day at the Minnesota State Capitol. Township officials from across the state will gathered for a two days of advocacy and training programs.  The goal is to advocate for essential township priorities and address critical issues. From legislative briefings to networking opportunities, Township Day provides a platform for officials to collaborate, learn, and champion the interests of their communities. Kudos to all township officials for their commitment to making a difference.

In The Community

Here I am visiting with residents of The Pillars in Hermantown. We had a great time sharing some delicious ice cream and learning about the beautiful new facilities here. 

This weekend I had the honor to join Mason at his Eagle Scout ceremony. This is the highest rank a scout can achieve and is only accomplished by 4% of scouts.
