Legislative Update
This week we've had several long hearings on the House Floor with the Driver's License for All bill on Monday, and a bill to give felons their voting rights back before they've finished out their entire sentence on Thursday.
I’ve received a great deal of communication from many of you, and have voiced your thoughtful concerns and suggestions during the debate.
I have continued to work on the bills I've introduced, several of which are listed here:
- HF 247 - Establishes a criminal penalty for SWATTING when bodily harm happens. This is when a person reports a fictitious emergency that triggers a response and results in the victim suffering significant bodily harm.
- HF 167 - Establishes a $1000 tax refund for 2021 taxes paid, and a $1000 tax credit for the 2022 filing year. We have a $17.6 billion surplus as a result of overtaxing Minnesotans, and this bill would help undo some of that enormous burden on Minnesotans across the state.
- HF 54 - Establishes a trust for foster children receiving Supplemental Social Security survivor benefits. This would provide money for them at age 18, from their parents.
- HF 332 - Establishes in law the US Supreme Court ruling that unions can not collect fair share fees.
