Legislative Update
 Good Neighbor Award
I received the Good Neighbor Award from TPT/PBS this week because of my support of the network. The Legislature has been a partner with TPT for more than 50 years, and TPT has been an huge part of many people's lives for even longer. Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood were incredibly important to me as a child, and I am honored to be recognized with the Good Neighbor Award.
Liquor Bill Passes House
On Wednesday, the Omnibus Liquor bill passed the House. The bill includes many provisions I've been working on for years, and I'm glad to see them moving forward this year. This is not a perfect bill, but it is a step forward for the people in the industry who have been advocating for changes.
As I have said many times as this bill moved through the process, this is not a win for any one legislator. Rather, it is a win for the people working in the industry who have fought for these changes for years. The bill is headed to conference committee now, but regardless of the outcome, I will continue working for a more free and fair system for our liquor manufacturers and distributors in the years ahead.
