MDH Testing Sites
With recent higher numbers of COVID cases in Minnesota, demand for COVID tests has increased over the past few weeks. There are several options if you or a loved one are looking to get tested. Visit one of the community testing sites across the state. The closest location to our district is the Starlite Center, 8085 Brooklyn Blvd in Brooklyn Park. You can also request an at-home testing kit through MDH.
Remember, COVID-19 tests are free and are available for all Minnesotans, with or without insurance. You can read the latest guidance from MDH on who should get tested here.

New Treatments with Monoclonal Antibodies
MDH has a tool – the Minnesota Resource Allocation Platform (MNRAP) – to help connect Minnesotans with treatments for COVID-19. Patients, their caregivers, or their health care providers can use MNRAP to find out which medications are available, whether they will help the person, and whether the person is able to get medication.
Monoclonal antibody treatments can be used to prevent COVID-19 in people who have had close contact or are at high risk of being in close contact with someone with COVID-19. To be eligible, people must not be fully vaccinated OR are not expected to build up enough of an immune response to the COVID vaccine (such as those who are immunocompromised.) Learn more about how you or a loved one can find a monoclonal antibody treatment here.

Gov. Walz's Special Session Agenda
This week Governor Walz released his agenda for a potential Special Session. Since September we have been waiting for the Governor to call us back to St. Paul so we can distribute $250 million of Hero Pay to frontline workers. A Commission has been working on this for months and it is hoped that we can get these federal dollars distributed before the end of the calendar year. In a letter to legislative leaders, Gov. Walz said he would also like the legislature to pass drought relief for farmers.
Since the Governor lost his emergency powers at the end of June, he also requested that the legislature reinstate several waivers to address the impact of continuing high case numbers on hospitals, long-term care and childcare facilities, etc. He also requested a controversial vaccine mandate for teachers and school staff, as well as long-term care workers. You can read Gov. Walz's full letter to legislative leaders here.

Out in the Community
I am enjoying all of the opportunities to continue to meet with constituents, attend community gatherings and meet with local business and government leaders. A few of the recent meetings are pictured below.
Yesterday, I enjoyed a tour of the I-95 overlay project from Maple Grove to Albertville. For more information on the project, and it's impact on your daily commute, follow updates here.

It was a beautiful day at the Dayton Fire Department Open House! They had so many fun activities for kids to learn about fire safety and to check out the equipment and rigs! Dayton Police Department was also there with their squads! A fun day that inspired a lot of future Firefighters and Police Officers!
Thanks to Concrete Paving Association of Minnesota and Pci Roads LLC for arranging a tour of the I-94 overlay project from Maple Grove to Albertville! Our section is expected to be complete by November 1st (🎉) and the work from Albertville to Clearwater will be done next year.
Loved supporting Minnesota YMCA Youth in Government with a bipartisan group of House and Senate Members! It was fun to meet several of the students who participate in this program and hear about how it has impacted them. House Chief Clerk Patrick Murphy provides amazing leadership and ensures the students have an authentic taste of life in the Legislature!
