With the Line 3 Project 90% complete and our area of the state already seeing the benefits, it's sad that the 5 members of the wasteful Squad, and a few other metro liberals, choose to make a grandstanding political circus in our state.
The reality is Line 3 has been studied for years, its construction was ordered by the Obama Administration to replace an aging pipeline, and, like it or not, fossil fuels are an absolute necessity for our modern world to function right now. This project has brought billions in private investment to our state and needed jobs to our area.
Pipelines are hands down the safest way to move oil to market and far superior to overweight trains traveling through populous areas.
Fortunately, this wasteful grandstanding will do nothing. Line 3 has huge bipartisan support and will start to safely and efficiently move oil to market as soon as this year.
I hope the wasteful congresswomen have safe travels in their diesel powered busses and jet-fuel planes – the fossil fuels they are here to protest – but we simply do not need this spectacle and we do not need them telling Minnesotans how to work and live.
