US Sailor Neal Kenneth Todd laid to rest in Akeley Cemetery
Earlier this month, fallen World War II veteran Neal Todd was laid to rest in Akeley Cemetery. Todd grew up in Akeley made the ultimate sacrifice during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. He was aboard the USS Oklahoma during the attack.
God bless this brave man, his family, and all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service of our country. I am glad he finally made it home to be laid to rest alongside his family.

Trip to Northwest Angle
I also joined a delegation to Minnesota’s Northwest Angle to call attention to the continued closure of the border between the United States and Canada and to visit with affected business owners, workers, and residents. We were joined by Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach, Senator Paul Utke, as well as Joe Henry with Lake of the Woods Tourism and many others.
We need to continue bringing attention to the border closure and help this community anyway we can.
I am proud to have successfully amended $5 million in relief grants to the Jobs Omnibus bill during special session to bring some help to a community that continues to be isolated due to the border closure.
Now we need to get our border with Canada back open so the Northwest Angle can get back to normal.
