Dear Friends and Neighbors,
The vaccine rollout plan continues to have moving targets. As Tom Hauser said on At Issue, “The Minnesota Department of Health is now on its’ third vaccination plan in three weeks. According to the Walz administration, they hope this will be a more permanent plan.”
After continued feedback from our state’s hospitals, the department finally reinstated a process for the regional hospital coalitions to be involved in the vaccine distribution process. This is good news for rural Minnesota communities like ours, so that seniors can have better access to get a vaccination from their local medical providers rather than traveling an hour or more and waiting in long lines at a large vaccination center.
Other major announcements this week include expanded access through pharmacies and the launch of the Rochester permanent large-scale vaccination site. This is the third of its kind, joining sites in Minneapolis and Duluth that launched last week. The Rochester site will serve approximately 1,500 Minnesotans 65 and older (65+) in its first week.
Veterans: I want to make sure that our area veterans know that they can receive their vaccines directly from the V.A. Here is the link for information.
The Minnesota Department of Health Vaccine Dashboard is available online and updated daily at 11:00 am. This dashboard has the most up to date statewide information on the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Minnesota.
I am committed to sharing pertinent information with you as soon as I receive it, so I will be posting a special vaccine update email on Tuesdays. Please feel free to share this update with any of your family members, neighbors, and friends. Others can subscribe to my email updates by sending me their email address to rep.barb.haley@house.mn
