Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy this holiday season. While this year has been harder than most for all of us, the amazing ingenuity and resilience of the American spirit to move forward and eventually overcome this trying time always makes me thankful to be an American.
I am very thankful for the great privilege of representing Rogers, Dayton, and Maple Grove in the Minnesota House and for the amazing opportunities I have had to meet so many fellow citizens and be of help to individuals and our communities.
I have always loved living and raising our kids here, but serving our community in the legislature has given me an even deeper appreciation of it. We have so many wonderful people who work, volunteer, create, innovate and give in untold ways to make our communities thrive!

I want to thank the residents of Dayton, Maple Grove, and Rogers very much for giving me the opportunity to represent you in the Minnesota House of Representatives for a second term! I have learned so much over the past two years and am very honored to be able to continue to represent our communities at the Capitol.
I will work hard every day for all of you - listening to your concerns, helping you navigate state government, and working with my colleagues to find solutions that help us safely get through this pandemic and enable us to rebuild our economy and our lives. I have seen so much resilience and creativity by small business owners, families, healthcare, and other essential workers, teachers, school leaders, and countless others. I know the innovations we need to support each other and find new ways of doing things will continue to come from you.
The Legislature can provide the framework for good policy and budget decisions, but we need your ideas, energy, experience and risk-taking to enable us to return to and exceed where we had been before the pandemic. Although 2020 has been a difficult year, 2021 promises to bring even more challenges. The Legislature will face very difficult decisions as we fulfill our constitutional duties to provide education, public safety, transportation, and other services while also balancing the budget.
I wish you and your families a wonderful Thanksgiving and a joyful holiday season! If you are looking for some new traditions to add to your celebrations, here's a couple of ideas from our family. Before the table is set, we write on our "Thanksgiving Table Cloth" something we are each thankful for this year and put the date next to it. It has become a family treasure to see what we have been thankful for throughout the years and who has been at our table. This year, like you, I am sad that we will not have a house-full and we will be missing those so dear to us, but we still have many things to be grateful for!
We also read either George Washington's Thanksgiving Proclamation or Abraham Lincoln's Thanksgiving Proclamation aloud each year. If you have not read them, it might be a good year to check them out!
Whatever your traditions, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I look forward to hearing from you and working with you to serve our communities!
