Legislative Update
This week has been one unlike many of us have ever seen before. Because of that, legislators stepped up this week and worked together on a bipartisan basis to fight the COVID-19 crisis. We passed a bill overwhelmingly that will provide funding for the state to battle the pandemic, and make things a little easier for our small businesses, childcare providers, and many others in need.
If you would like to see what is included in the bill, you can see it here.
Also this week, Governor Walz announced a "Stay at Home" order. If you have questions about this order, you can contact me and I will work to get answers to you as quickly as possible.
I would encourage everyone to continue social distancing, and use this time to converse with God and enjoy spending time with your family.
Emergency Child Care Grants
This week the Minnesota Initiative Foundations launched the Emergency Child Care Grant Program to provide immediate support to providers in Greater Minnesota who serve the children (birth to age five) of first responders, health care workers, or other workers deemed essential during the COVID-19 peacetime emergency. Grants of $500 to $3000 will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. You can apply through your local MN Initiative Foundation.
