Our third and final committee deadline was yesterday for most bills to be considered for action this legislative session. The legislature is on a short holiday break until early next week and upon returning to the Capitol, we will begin passing our budget bills
Last weekend, I was on WCCO radio to talk about Autism services and the virtual MN Autism Resource Symposium on Tuesday, April 12. You can learn more about the event and how to participate here.
The City of Rochester Parks & Recreation is hiring for summer programming. Positions include staff for the Outdoor Tennis Center at Kutzky Park, Security at Foster Arend Beach, Mobile Recreation and AccessABLE Recreation. Plans are also in the works for the outdoor summer pool season. The department is working with the Rochester Swim Club to provide staff and structure for the pool season. Also, the City of Rochester is welcoming applications for its paid internship program. The internship will include exposure to several City of Rochester departments, and interns can learn how local government can impact communities, specific projects, presentations at public meetings, reading assignments, research, assisting at community events, and other relevant learning/work activities.
