Neighbors and Friends,
As I mentioned in my last update, I am not seeking reelection in 2022. The new legislature is sworn in the first part of January 2023, not 2022 and in the 2022 legislative session, I will continue working on the concerns shared by so many to provide accessible, affordable housing for all Minnesotans, and all the other important issues before us. I want to hear your thoughts and concerns as we head into the next session and thank you again for all your support during my time in the legislature.
Capital Investment Committee Visit
One item of interest to our communities is the passage next year of the 2022 Bonding Bill. Last week, I hosted the Minnesota House Capital Investment Committee stops to view proposals for the Guidant John Rose Minnesota Oval, Como Park Zoo, and the Gibbs Farm improvement projects.
Minnesota’s rich history is preserved at the Gibbs Farm. Como Zoo and Conservatory provides year-round affordable entertainment and education to hundreds of thousands of Minnesotans and the John Rose Oval is a world-class recreational facility. All these projects are worthy of state investments to help restore and improve them now and for future generations and I will advocate for their inclusion in the 2022 Bonding Bill.
The Capital Investment Committee visited Gibbs Farm on their 2021 tour of
possible projects to include in the 2022 bonding bill.
