WHAT
A job fair at St. Louis Park’s Lenox Community Center on February 25 is one of dozens of such events that Hennepin County will host or co-host in 2015. This one, however, has an unusual twist.
Some 50 participating businesses will each make a donation to support services and programming for senior citizens at the community center. This donation replaces the typical table fee for businesses at job fairs.
A similar feature at a job fair last November in Osseo brought some amazing results, when participating businesses donated more than 3,200 pounds of food items for a local food shelf.
Media are invited to attend the job fair and talk to participating businesses and representatives from Lenox Community Center about an event that benefits both job seekers and the broader community.
