News release

Local fiber artists at the Hennepin Gallery

Two fiber artists from Textile Center will be featured in the Hennepin Gallery September 10 through November 21, 2014.

Ann Hall Richards' handmade paper panels and sewn silk and thread, combined with collected organic plant materials, challenge the viewer to consider the sum of such materials—fiber art—as artistic expression.

Ingrid Restemayer’s paper collages include stitches and embroidery that appear to be code-like paragraphs paired with delicate etched imagery.

A national center for fiber art, Textile Center's mission is to honor textile traditions and promote excellence and innovation in fiber art. Textile Center, which celebrates its 20th birthday this year, engages people of all ages and backgrounds in high quality fiber art creation and activities.

The Hennepin Gallery is free and open to the public Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., at the Hennepin County Government Center, A-level, 300 S. Sixth St., Minneapolis.

The exhibit is sponsored by Hennepin County Public Affairs.

The Gallery is a project of Hennepin County Public Affairs.
