Canopy takes shape as construction work continues

Installation of the iconic canopy continues at Target Field Station (formerly the Interchange), with contractors installing more rail and ballast, as well as pulling cable for all of the light-rail systems.

For the last several weeks, crews have been pouring the concrete floor in the lower level of the parking structure. More colored concrete has also been poured on the upper plaza.

Traffic was redirected back to the west side of the Hennepin Energy Recover Center (HERC) main entrance last week so additional underground utility work could be completed on the east side.

The drive into the HERC administration building is approximately 30 percent complete and the contractors continue to grade and prep the area so that this work can continue throughout the winter.

Pedestrian crossing will close Dec. 16 - 20

The pedestrian crossing at the paid fare zone at Target Field Station will be closed from Monday, Dec. 16, to Friday, Dec. 20.

Pedestrians will be directed to cross Fifth Street North at Third Avenue North. The light-rail platform will remain open during construction. Pedestrians will access the platform on the east side. We appreciate your continued patience during construction activities.
