Snowmobile Safety

Snow mobile

The Sheriff's Water Patrol uses snowmobiles to patrol the frozen waterways throughout Hennepin County.  There are 104 named lakes and three major rivers in the county.  If your child is interested in snowmobiling, remember to enroll them in a safety class.  Check out upcoming classes that are listed on the DNR website  http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/events/index_safety.html    When Sheriff's Deputies use snowmobiles or ATVs or they are walking on frozen lakes, they wear life jackets.  This added safety measure is recommended for all residents.
