Dear Neighbors,
I want to share a time-sensitive opportunity for small businesses in our communities.
Last week, the Hennepin County Board approved $2 million in Small Business Recovery Fund grants to support businesses impacted by the recent federal immigration enforcement surge. Many of our local businesses have experienced significant disruptions, including reduced foot traffic, temporary closures, and workforce challenges.
Grant Information
Deadline: Wednesday, March 25 at 4:00 PM Grant amounts: $3,000–$10,000 Use of funds: Rent or commercial mortgage support
Eligible businesses must demonstrate at least a 30% loss in revenue between December 1, 2025, and February 28, 2026, and meet additional criteria.
Hennepin County has partnered with NextStage to administer the program, and free application support is available through Elevate Hennepin, including virtual information sessions and in-person assistance with translation services. Learn more HERE.
Given the short application window, I would greatly appreciate your help in sharing this opportunity widely with businesses in each of your cities. Ensuring that impacted businesses are aware of and able to access these funds is critical.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions or if my office can help connect businesses to support resources.
Thank you for your partnership and for supporting our local business community.
Sincerely,
 Heather Edelson
