Walk will build awareness of human trafficking

Hennepin County and the Mall of America® will host hundreds of survivors, advocates and allies in recognition of Human Trafficking and Exploitation Awareness Month.

 

When

Thursday, January 22, 7 to 9:30 a.m.

  • 7 to 7:30 a.m.: Community tabling event
  • 7:30 to 8 a.m.: Opening ceremony with remarks
  • 8 a.m.: Walk
  • 9 to 9:30 a.m.: Closing ceremony

What

January is Human Trafficking and Exploitation Awareness Month in Minnesota.

Hennepin County’s No Wrong Door program is hosting the Walk to End the Silence on January 22 to uplift, support and empower survivors and their families.

Attendees will learn about:

  • Identifying and preventing human trafficking and sexual exploitation
  • Hennepin County’s ongoing efforts to address this important issue

  • Hennepin County Safe Communities leaders
  • Members of Hennepin County’s Youth Advisory Board
