Maximum vehicle speed is 15 mph on all roadways, parking areas, and drive lanes. The speed limit is 5 mph when driving on the scales, entering the building, maneuvering on the tipping floor and until exiting the building.
Watch out for new speed bumps coming soon at both facilities.
Observed violations will get a safety violation citation. These speed limits are necessary for the safety of drivers, employees, and guests.
Reminder: Professional courtesy matters
Please remember to treat our staff with professionalism and respect. We're here to support you and help things run smoothly.
Thank you for cooperation.
Due to safety concerns and space constraints on the tipping floors at BPTS and HERC, loads requiring manual offloading (i.e., unloading trucks by hand) will not be allowed starting January 1, 2026. This requirement is primarily for loads arriving in box trucks.
We have done our best to accommodate these types of vehicles, but we have found it too difficult for our operations and our ability to ensure everyone’s safety. Questions? Contact haulers@hennepin.us or 612-348-7813.
