 State of the County Address
The Hennepin County Board of Commissioners cordially invites you to the 2025 State of the County Address, presented by Board Chair Irene Fernando.
Thursday, May 8, 2025 Doors open at 9:30 a.m. with program beginning at 10 a.m.

2025 Transportation Activities Map
What this map includes
This map includes major transportation preservation and construction projects planned in 2025. Please note, the identified projects may change based on approvals required, coordination with other projects and additional factors such as weather and emergency needs. Communication with residents on these projects will generally occur prior to work starting through various methods such as a website, GovDelivery emails, open houses, visits with local businesses, notifications in city newsletters and location signing. For a closer district view, click on the district tabs.
What is not included
Not included in this map are minor maintenance activities, such as patching potholes, sweeping, sign maintenance, addressing drainage issues, building/replacing retaining walls and removing diseased trees. Many of these projects are brief and have little public impact.

Report a Problem
Hennepin County is responsible for most maintenance issues on county roads. This includes pothole repair, fixing traffic signals and picking up debris.
The below link will connect you to our county web page, which offers information and forms for reporting issues, such as pothole repair needs, sign knock-downs, signal malfunctions, etc. The site also includes information on how to report a problem on city streets and state highways, as contact information for other agencies.

 Career and Resource Fair
Everyone is welcome to attend this career and resource fair which features a variety of jobs and resources in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota area.
Each employer will feature information about their organization, job openings, and more. You will be able to meet with each employer to get your questions answered.

“No Mow May” is the practice of minimizing lawn cutting during May when dandelions, clover, etc. provide forage for pollinators early.

Full-Day Community Police Academy
The New Hope, Crystal and Robbinsdale Police Departments are hosting a full-day Community Police Academy on Saturday, May 17 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Crystal Police Department.
This free, single-day event is ideal for adults of all ages and backgrounds who live or work within New Hope, Crystal and Robbinsdale and want to learn more about their local police Department. NOTE: A brief background check is conducted on all applicants.
Most instructors are New Hope, Crystal or Robbinsdale police officers. Topics include patrol tactics, investigations, narcotics, crime scene processing, juvenile crime, dispatching, court procedures, use of force, canine demonstrations, crime prevention strategies and mental health in law enforcement.
Participants should be ready for classroom and hands-on experiences and are expected and encouraged to fully participate in all topics. The academy is a safe environment.

Robbinsdale Water Treatment Plant Tours
During the week of May 18-24, 2025, the City of Robbinsdale will be offering tours of the award-winning Robbinsdale Water Treatment Plant in celebration of National Public Works Week. Look out for further details and a tour sign-up form on City social media channels and in the Birdtown Brief soon!
