Reminder: Heading Home Hennepin Annual Meeting - Tuesday, November 19th
We are a few hours away from the Heading Home Hennepin Annual Meeting. This year, the planning of the event was led by the Hennepin County Lived Experience Advisory Group (LEAG). We thank them for all their time and effort to bring this gathering together! The 2024 theme is solutions - a focus on both innovative and time-tested ways that our community is responding to homelessness. The event will feature an opening session and two rounds of breakout sessions.
When: Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, 1:00 - 4:00 P.M.
Where: Minneapolis Central Library, Pohlad Hall - 300 Nicollett Mall, Minneapolis

Get ready: Coordinated Affordable Housing RFP
The RFP will be released mid-December, earlier than in previous years
In December 2024, both multifamily rental and homeownership development projects will be eligible to apply to the Hennepin County affordable housing development RFP.
There are several items to note for this annual capital funding RFP:
- All capital funds for affordable housing development, whether for homeownership or rental projects, will be offered via this one RFP event.
- All proposals must be submitted via the Housing and Economic Development portal (not the Supplier Portal).
- This year’s RFP timeline will provide an additional week for proposal development and submission.
- The Transit Oriented Communities (TOC) program will host a separate RFP process in 2025, with an anticipated release date in February. TOC will, however, be included in the information session.
Proposals for the 2025 Coordinated RFP will be due late January 2025. For more, please visit our webpage.
Help set priorities for federal housing funds in Hennepin County
Each year, Hennepin County receives around $5 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for suburban housing and development projects and services.
To guide the use of the funds, the county works with cities, residents, and other partners to set goals and priorities for affordable housing and community development in suburban communities as part of a five-year plan. These priorities also help shape broader affordable housing efforts by the county and partner cities.
Take our online survey to provide guidance on federal housing funds.
