Ripple Effect Brewing celebrated a ribbon cutting August 29 and opened to the public September 4. The first brewery in Rogers is a passion project for Chris Guttormson and his business partner Leanne Ritz.
They were passionate about opening a brewery as a community gathering space, but leaned on Elevate Hennepin advising to fill in the gaps in their business knowledge.
“Chris and I are both people who love to problem solve. I think that makes us good candidates for starting our own business,” Leanne said. “But we also recognize that we haven’t done this before. We had to ask a lot of good questions and have good expertise to help fill the gaps.”
When you’re running your own business, it’s essential to learn about the legal protections you and your employees have under U.S. law. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is the federal agency that enforces laws on workplace discrimination. The commission oversees businesses' compliance in areas such as wages and benefits, harassment, hiring, firing, training, and more.
We know that legal matters and employment law can be overwhelming. The Elevate Hennepin network includes experienced attorneys who specialize in business and employment law and can walk you through these legal frameworks. Gaining knowledge helps create a solid foundation for your business, and we want you to be empowered entrepreneurs!
As a Hennepin County business owner, you qualify for 25 hours of no-cost consulting with one of our expert legal advisors.
We are excited to highlight Hennepin County entrepreneurs who have shared their business’s ELEVATEor Pitches with us. Kara Brown, owner of Experience Culture Travel, a Crystal-based business, found support and guidance through Elevate Hennepin’s webinar resources on email marketing and social media strategy.
“Experience Culture Travel is a full-service travel agency that specializes in culturally immersive and off-the-beaten-track itineraries. Travelers experience the destination's culture more authentically through hands-on activities, local connections, and customized service.”
The Elevate Hennepin network offers frequent and high-quality virtual presentations at no cost.
As someone who has only recently learned about Elevate Hennepin, Kara is excited to learn more.
“I am really looking forward to getting more consulting assistance in understanding marketing and making it work for me since I am wearing all the hats for my business!”
