Our 2025 book club season title and program details will be announced in early 2025. In the meantime, the Mary Ann Key Book Club newsletter will highlight authors from the Twin Cities in conversation with Myron Medcalf about their latest books and work within the community.
Myron Medcalf and Matthew Delmont discuss Dr. Delmont’s recent award-winning book “Half American: The Epic Story of African Americans Fighting World War II at Home and Abroad."
Matthew Delmont is the Sherman Fairchild Distinguished Professor of History at Dartmouth College. A Guggenheim Fellow and expert on African American history and the history of civil rights, he is the author of five books: Black Quotidian, Why Busing Failed, Making Roots, The Nicest Kids in Town, and his newest book, Half American, which was published in 2022 and won the 2023 Anisfield-Wolf Book Award in Nonfiction.
His work has also appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Washington Post, NPR, and several academic journals. Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Delmont earned his B.A from Harvard University and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Brown University. Learn more about Dr. Delmont on his website.

Music and Nature series Multiple locations and dates
Tour nature-inspired music through the worlds of birdsong, outer space, underwater, and more with composers from a variety of eras and locations. Collaborator: MacPhail Center for Music. Program funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. Learn more.
