Odigo Wellness cofounders Dr. Marakah Mancini de León and Dr. Stephen Thompson
When the four co-owners of Odigo Wellness came together to start the business, they were like a lot of small business founders. They didn’t have a lot of money, none of them had formal business training, and they had grand plans to buy a building for their cooperative wellness business.
They found no-cost legal support and insight to help them through the process. Cofounder Marakah Mancini de León said they worked closely with Miluska Novota, Elevate Hennepin advisor and principal attorney at Hortensia Law to guide them through a very complex process.
“It was truly harrowing,” said Marakah.
Ultimately, they were able to acquire their ideal building in Uptown Minneapolis.
The U.S. Small Business Administration isn’t the flashiest organization, but it has a wide range of training and guidance for small business owners looking for some best practices on demand.
Unlock your business’s potential with SBA online training courses. Whether you're a seasoned entrepreneur or just starting out, the SBA's comprehensive e-learning modules are designed to keep your business moving forward.
Learn at your own pace with expert-led courses covering everything from financial management and marketing strategies to legal compliance and how to work with government entities.
This week’s ELEVATEor Pitch comes from Violet Wine.
Frederic Petters and Erikka Curran opened the local bottle shop Violet Wine in Northeast Minneapolis in 2022.
The bottle shop has the dual focus of excellent customer service along with providing sustainably and responsibly produced products from small independent producers, "the honest and the delicious," as the founders say.
As their small business grew, Frederic and Erikka realized it was time to expand their communications efforts and turned to Elevate Hennepin.
Frederic said, “[Elevate Hennepin Advisor] Juan Llerana from JLLB Media Marketing Agency was an excellent resource. We were able to more finely tune our website our social media, and really all communications.”
Keep up the great work, Violet Wine!
