Hennepin County has an amazing food industry, and we’re grateful that you’re part of this community.
As you know, when working with food, waste can come from many sources – including food that is spoiled, uneaten, or off customer plates. Wasted food wastes money and the water, fertilizer, land, and labor needed to get that food from the fields to our tables.
Hennepin County is seeking to better understand the issue so we can develop effective strategies to reduce wasted food. We are interested in learning what types of wasted food your business produces, what sorts of practices are currently implemented to reduce wasted food, and what resources may be beneficial to you.
