Special primary Election Day is today

Polls are open for the District 6 County Commissioner Special Primary Election until 8 p.m.

Things to do on Election Day

Before you head to the polls:

Registering on Election Day

Not yet registered? Don’t worry – in Minnesota, you can register at your polling place. To do so, you will need to provide proof of residence. This can be done in several different ways:

  • An ID with your current name and address, or
  • A photo ID (does not need to list your current residence) AND a document like a utility bill due or dated within 30 days of the election with your current residence, or
  • Have a registered voter from the same precinct vouch on your behalf

Plan for polling place accessibility

Accessible ballot marking devices are available at all polling places in Hennepin County. You have the right to bring someone, or ask election judges, to assist you at the polling place. Additionally, curbside voting is available for voters who cannot leave their vehicle.

Find more information about accessible voting at mnvotes.gov.

Return your absentee ballot

Absentee ballots must arrive by Election Day to be counted. Absentee ballots can be dropped off until 8 p.m. on Election Day to:

Results

After the close of polls at 8 p.m., the election results are combined and posted to the State Election Reporting System. State law prohibits the release of polling place results until all absentee ballots for that precinct have been counted and combined with polling place totals.

Results reported on election night are unofficial and may be adjusted in the days following Election Day, prior to the canvassing board meeting.
