New gym benefit for PMAP members

As of January 1, 2024, Hennepin Health now offers a health club membership credit to PMAP members who belong to the YMCA of the North. When you visit the YMCA six times in the month, a $30 credit is applied to your account. With this credit, you can save up to 40% off your monthly membership fee.

The program is newly available to PMAP members who currently have a YMCA membership or who join the YMCA. You may qualify for other financial assistance offered by the YMCA.

How to get the credit

PMAP members who already belong to the YMCA can show your Hennepin Health member ID card when you check in for your next YMCA visit and ask to be enrolled in the Hennepin Health reimbursement program.

PMAP members who want to join the YMCA can sign-up online or in person. Go to Locations | YMCA of the North (ymcanorth.org) to find the YMCA locations near you. Once you become a YMCA member, show your Hennepin Health member ID card at the YMCA check-in to become enrolled in the Hennepin Health reimbursement program.

If you have questions about the PMAP health club membership credit, contact Member Services at 612-596-1036, TTY 711. To learn more about the YMCA, go to YMCA of the North (ymcanorth.org).

Note for SNBC and MinnesotaCare members: Your YMCA health club benefit remains the same. This health club membership is expanding to PMAP members.

You have dental care covered! Adults in PMAP and MinnesotaCare have expanded dental benefits.

You have dental coverage through Hennepin Health. Now more dental care is covered in 2024 with expanded benefits for adults enrolled in PMAP or MinnesotaCare.

Your dental coverage includes check-ups, cleanings, deep cleanings (also known as a scaling and planing procedure), fillings and restorative work, and more.

Learn more about expanded coverage in the PMAP member handbook or the MinnesotaCare member handbook. Or call Member Services at 612-596-1036, TTY 711.

You may qualify for the Child Tax Credit

Beginning with tax year 2023, you may qualify for a Child Tax Credit of $1,750 per qualifying child, with no limit on the number of children claimed. This is a refundable credit, meaning you can receive a refund even if you do not owe tax.

If a qualifying child is over age 17, you may not claim them for the Child Tax Credit. You may be able to claim the child for the Credit for Qualifying Older Children.

The credit phases out if your income is over $29,500 ($35,000 for Married Filing Jointly).

Look for the CAHPS survey to provide feedback

Every year the Minnesota Department of Human Services asks our members about their experience with Hennepin Health and their providers. Hennepin Health uses this information to improve health care services.

This survey is called the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®). It is mailed to our members during the first four months of each year, so be on the lookout for an envelope from the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Survey Processing Center.
