Virtually assist the spring CRA class

Plastic-Free Challenge opportunities
The online Plastic-Free Challenge has begun! The Plastic-Free Challenge is a month-long online challenge to educate and empower reduction of plastic use in Hennepin, Washington and Ramsey counties. The challenge runs from February 1 through 29. We have two volunteer opportunities for CRAs.
Serve as a team captain
Create a team then recruit and engage your team members! This can be done in person or online through February. Sign up for the challenge online, create a profile and start or join a team. Throughout the month, share thoughts, post updates, ask questions, challenge team members to take on actions, and help troubleshoot and keep them motivated. Tips for getting started and serving as a team captain are on the resources page, along with some video tutorials.
Table at Ridgedale Library
Ridgedale Library is showing the film Plastic Earth on Saturday, February 17. Two volunteers are needed to staff a table about plastic recycling before and after the event. Tabling shift will be 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Materials will be provided. Email Amy.Maas@hennepin.us to sign up.
If you haven't yet submitted your volunteer hours from 2023, please take the time to summarize your hours and submit them as soon as you can.
Reporting your hours help us track your progress toward completing your 30 volunteer hours and becoming a certified Community Recycling Ambassador. It also helps us track the impact of the program across the county.
Report your hours by filling out the Community Recycling Ambassador volunteer hours reporting form.
Fix-It Clinics are held once a month from noon to 4 p.m., with the last items accepted at 3:30 p.m. Events are first come, first served. No pre-registration required.
