Dear Friends and Neighbors,

It's hard to believe that we're turning our calendars to December, and the last month of 2023 — but, it also makes for a great time to consider the last year's accomplishments, and forecast goals for 2024. Be on the outlook for my office's annual Year-in-Review letter which will cover a busy year at Hennepin County and offer a look at how we will continue to build a more equitable, thriving, resilient community for all in the year ahead.

In addition to stories from our community, grant opportunities, home valuation tax information, and details on vaccination options, below you'll find more information on 2024 Citizen Advisory Board (CAB) positions. Take a look, and please don't hesitate to follow up with my office with questions on serving as an appointee on any of the 30 positions the board will fill.

Have a wonderful end of the year!

My best,

Former Hennepin County Probation Clients Celebrate Success and Inspire Others

prob

Hennepin County held a celebration in honor of individuals who have successfully completed probation. Their success stories – in their own words – are featured in a new Government Center exhibit called “A Journey to Success,” which will display the stories of probation clients on a rolling basis.

The Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation created the Journey to Success project to showcase the accomplishments of our probation and supervision clients and to share positive stories about the criminal justice system. The county is grateful and proud to have been a part of their journey. Their perseverance and achievement will no doubt inspire others.

For Questions About Property Valuations, Contact the Assessor's Office

Property values are one factor affecting property taxes owed for an individual property. The Assessor's Office assesses your property and estimates the value it would likely sell for on the open market, which is one factor used in determining your property tax. In some municipalities the city assessor, rather than the county, determines property values.

Contact the assessor’s office.
