The US Department of Agriculture states that 12.8 percent (17.0 million) of U.S. households were food insecure at some time during 2022. Food insecurity in 2022 was significantly higher than the 10.2 percent (13.5 million) in 2021. As prices rise and the number of food insecure households increases, free food resources are increasingly becoming essential lifelines for families and the elderly across the country — and this holiday season is no exception.

Hennepin County held a celebration on Tuesday, November 14, in honor of individuals who have successfully completed probation. Their success stories – in their own words – are featured in a new Government Center exhibit called “A Journey to Success,” which will display the stories of probation clients on a rolling basis.
The Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation created the Journey to Success project to showcase the accomplishments of our probation and supervision clients and to share positive stories about the criminal justice system. The county is grateful and proud to have been a part of their journey. Their perseverance and achievement will no doubt inspire others.
