K9 Retirement and Dog Adoption Event

MAY 2, 2023 (Minneapolis) - This Saturday, May 6th, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office will celebrate the retirement of HCSO K9 Zoro by partnering with No Dog Left Behind, a local dog rescue, to host a dog adoption event.

The event will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at No Dog Left Behind's facility at 10779 93rd Avenue North, Maple Grove, MN 55369. The retirement program will begin promptly at 11 am and last approximately ten minutes. The new HCSO mascot Casey will also be making their debut public appearance at the event.

The public is invited to celebrate Zoro's 4.5 year career as detection canine and wish him a happy retirement. Zoro will be joined at the event by several dogs available for adoption. People interested in adopting a dog will need to go through adoption process with No Dog Left Behind to ensure that every dog gets the best chance at a happy forever home.

"All of us here at the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office wish Zoro and his partner Deputy Lisa Mueller a happy retirement," said Hennepin County Sheriff Dawanna Witt. "We know that Zoro will have a happy life with Lisa, and we hope that every dog available at this event will find a loving home.
