Request for proposals: Community-Led Well-Being and Trauma-Informed Projects

This notice is being reissued to reflect changes to this RFP.

Changes include a new proposal due date, a new date for a second pre-proposal conference, and a new due date for additional questions. Additional focus areas for this RFP have been added, and additional funding has been assigned.

Hennepin County is soliciting proposals for programs, projects, ideas, and/or events that work to positively impact community health disparities and improve mental well-being outcomes for communities impacted by racial disparities in Hennepin County. 

Hennepin County is committed to reducing or eliminating race-based disparities in health and has declared racism a public health crisis. The Community Health Improvement Partnership (CHIP), Public Health Promotion (PHP), Public Health Trauma-Informed Team (TI Team), and their nonprofit partner, Hennepin County Children’s Mental Health Collaborative (HCCMHC) are partnering together to offer a broad range of community health and mental well-being improvement funding opportunities prioritizing communities impacted by racial disparities in cultural, spiritual, faith-based, and geographic communities in Hennepin County.

The intent of this funding is to enable local organizations to lift up community-driven ideas, recommendations, and solutions to strengthen communities and build relationships. 

Organizations that submit applications as part of this solicitation will choose a maximum of two focus areas below: 

  • Community Healing
  • Organizational Change Toward Becoming Trauma-Informed
  • Inform Local Government's Trauma-Informed Journey
  • Social Connections in Rental Communities
  • Spiritual/Faith/Cultural Trauma-Response
  • Non-Western Healing Modalities
  • Child/Family Gun Violence Exposure
  • Preventative Service Delays/Gaps

Proposal timeline

How to submit a proposal

  • RFP materials are posted in the Hennepin County Supplier Portal. Select Contracting Opportunities, and look for the RFP titled “Community-Led Wellbeing & Trauma-Informed Projects." 
    Note: The Supplier Portal has been upgraded and has a new look. Use the updated link above to navigate to the Supplier Portal. Updated instructions and videos can be found on the Supplier Portal help page.
  • Providers will submit proposals via the Hennepin County Supplier Portal. Providers who do not already have a Supplier Portal account first need to register with the Supplier Portal in order to submit their application.
